The
Department of Theatre Arts' production of Neil Simon's hilarious Plaza Suite
opens this weekend! The show runs February 15, 16, 22, and 23 at 8 p.m., and February
17 and 24 at 2 p.m., in Studio A48 at the Arts Center.
One of Simon's best-loved plays, Plaza Suite tells the story of three couples successively
occupying the same suite at New York's Plaza Hotel. A suburban couple takes the
suite while their house is painted, and it turns out to be the one in which
they honeymooned 23 (or was it 24?) years before, and was yesterday the
anniversary, or is it today? This is followed by the exploits of a Hollywood
producer who, after three marriages, calls a childhood sweetheart -- now a
suburban housewife -- for a little diversion. The last couple are parents
arguing about the best way to get their daughter out of the suite and down to
the ballroom, where her wedding guests await.
Tickets are available at the Arts Center Box Office; Nazareth, students,
faculty, and staff receive one complimentary ticket when presenting their
Nazareth ID.
